Welfare

At Green Arrows we believe that the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility and that all children and young people have a right to have fun, be safe and be protected from harm. 

Green Arrows follow the Swim England Wavepower safeguarding policy. 

Welfare Officer

The welfare officer provides a point of contact for children, parents and adults within the club who have a safeguarding or welfare concern.

Green Arrows Welfare Officer is Tara MacCormick-Swanson.


If a swimmer or club member has any welfare concerns or worries, they should speak to one of the club coaches or contact the Club Welfare Officer in confidence at: Greenarrowswelfare@gmail.com

Please be aware this address is not monitored daily, but Tara will aim to get back to you within three days.

How to get Help

Take the name and contact details of the person you have spoken to, plus the incident / referral reference number (if applicable) so you have a record of the advice they give.

Then report this to the club welfare officer and the Swim England safeguarding team the next working day

What if I need to contact someone in an emergency?
If you believe a child or adult has been harmed or may be at immediate risk of harm

The Police - Phone 999 if a crime is being committed or if a child or other individual is in immediate danger.

MASH - Multi agency Safeguarding Childrens Hub 

Professionals from social care, police, health services, education and other services such as housing.

Contact MASH if you are a Child, a Parent, a Family Member or a Member of the public and have worries about a child, or if you think a child is at risk of abuse

Outside of working hours, the telephone number should be used for emergency safeguarding enquiries only


City MASH (only for children living within City boundaries)

Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:50 pm 

Please contact us on 0115 876 4800 to discuss your worries. Non urgent referrals can be made using the form on the MASH webpage.
 

County MASH

Working hours 8:30 am  to 5pm

Contact the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) on 0300 456 4546 if your concern is urgent and outside working hours.

 

Adult Social Care

Everyone has the right to live their life free from violence, fear and abuse. All adults have the right to be protected from harm or exploitation

If you live in Nottingham City call Adult Social Care on 0115 8763330. Our lines are open 9am to 5pm, or via the new online portal referral form

If you live in Nottinghamshire County, call Nottinghamshire County Council on 0300 500 8080

If you are unsure, please call and report what is happening to you or the person you are concerned about. You can report abuse in the strictest confidence and your identity can be kept private. 

 

LADO (Local Authority Designated officer) 

If you are concerned that someone in a position of trust has harmed a child or behaved in a way that indicates that they may be unsuitable to be in a position of trust, please contact the LADO to discuss your concerns promptly

Only online referral forms will be accepted by Nottingham City LADO LADO - Nottingham City Council.
